When Does the S15 Silvia Turn 25 Years Old?
The 1999 Nissan Silvia S15 is 25 years old starting in January 2024. Once it turns 25 years old, it will be exempt from NHTSA requirements, and legal to import to the USA.
There were three different varients of the S15, The Spec-R, the Spec-S, and the Silvia Varietta. The S15 is an evolution of the S13, and S14 Nissans. They were available with 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions, and automatics. Also normally aspirated and turbo versions of the SR20.

This price is all inclusive and includes transport to our facility in Cypress California. Import Tariffs are subject to change, so we can not guarantee the current tariff of 2.5%, will be the same at the time the car is imported. Storage for the car in Japan is additional. We have multiple storage options and costs. Maintenance and modifications while in storage are on option as well, costs are based on your preferences.
If you are a California resident or live in a state that requires ODB2 emissions testing, we can not guarantee that the vehicle will be able to meet emissions requirements, as the R34 GT-R is not equipped from the factory with OBD2. Some States may choose to exempt them or adapt new laws prior to the car turning 25 but that is beyond our control. Please check local laws for more information.
Once the car is paid in full the car is yours. Chassis number specific contracts and purchase agreements will be in place to ensure you have proof of ownership of the car. We will not under any circumstances import the vehicle to you prior to the car turning 25 or assist in any form of illegal importing of the vehicle.
