How much horsepower does a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 have?

How much horsepower does a Nissan Skyline GT-R, R34 have? In the real world, it should be an easy question to answer. You look up the specifications in the brochure, and it should have a horsepower rating.  Those horsepower ratings, are at the engine, and include normally four numbers.  A horsepower peak number at a certain rpm, and a torque peak number at a certain rpm.  A dynometer doesn't actually measure horsepower, it measures torque, horsepower is a caclulated value from the torque and rpm measurements.

Without getting too much into the details, Japanese manufactuers didn't want to list any vehicles making more than 280ps, or 276 horsepower, no matter what horsepower they actually made.   The R32, R33, and R34 GT-R all "made" 280ps or 276 horsepower

In this test from Drivetribe, they tested some fairly stock cars and got:

R32 GT-R - 230 horsepower at the wheels

R33 GT-R - 285 horsepower at the wheels

R34 GT-R - 308 horsepower at the wheels

The R34 GT-R was a Vspec II Nur, so it had different turbos on it than the standard R34 GT-R. The Nur being about the most healthy of any of the R34's.

The R32 GT-R at stock boost - about 10 psi, making about 230 horsepower at the wheels makes sense.  The R33 got more boost, the R34 even more.

AEM tested a fairly stock R32 GT-R, when they were developing their series 1 ECU.  At what they said was 8 psi, the car made 230 wheel horsepower on their Mustang dyno. With a tune, at the same boost, it made 270 horsepower.

How much horsepower does an R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R make?

How much horsepower does a stock R33 GT-R make?  Not 1043 horsepower.  However the R33 GT-R below did.
